- I think a small correction is in order here. Does the PGP code not use the
- idea encryption? That was busted, prolly a year back, but if everyone who
- worked on the crack got a share of that prize money, each might have been
- able to add a cup of coffee to their order of scones! It took that many
- hackers, and a 2 year effort if you believe the story that ran when it was
- first cracked. That was I think, with the small key, 384 bits, even less
- than the current min of 512 bits. A 2k key is still untouchable IMO. And
- yes, the combined power of the machines that cracked it would handily beat
- the Cray.
